A euphemistic phrase indicating that someone (of any gender) is gay. This phrase is not a slur or especially offensive, and is generally used with a note of humour. However, it is outdated, because the euphemistic reluctance to normalise terms such as "gay" or "lesbian" suggests that LGBTQ+ people should not be openly talked about.
